    • March 9, 2011. Dr. Joseph M. Suflita to participate as invited speaker at the Helmholtz Zentrum München Institution's Conference on Biological Transformations of Hydrocarbons in Herrsching/Ammersee, Germany. Presentation entitled: Stimulation of Anaerobic Hydrocarbon Metabolism: Insights from the Proteome.
    • March 16, 2011. Dr. Joseph M. Suflita meets in Houston, TX with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE International).
    • March 29,-31, 2011. Journal of Environmental Science and Technology Associate Editor Dr. Joseph M. Suflita meets with members of the American Chemical Society.
    • April 18-20, 2011. Dr. Joseph M. Suflita to participate in the Genome Canada Review Committee.
    • May 19-23, 2011. Dr. Paul Lawson to attend Editorial Board Meeting and present poster at the Inaugural Meeting of Bergey's International Society for Microbial Systematics in Beijing, China.
    • June 23-24, 2011. Dr. Paul Lawson will be attending the 14th Conference on Genomics and Proteomics of Human Pathogens in Colindale, UK. Presentation entitled: Buidling upon Microbial Molecular Inventories: Maximizing Species Descriptive Criteria through the Support of Chemotaxonomic Biomarkers. (Visit the Health Protection Agency)
    • July 25-30, 2011. Dr. Iwona Beech will host BIOCOR ITN summer school at the University of Portsmouth, UK. The 6-day event entitled Understanding Biocorrosion: Fundamentals and Applications, will include international experts in the field from Academia, Research Institutes and Industry.
    • September 11-16, 2011. Dr. Joseph Suflita and Dr. Brad Stevenson to participate as invited speakers and session chairs at the 8th International Symposium of Subsurface Microbiology in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, near Munich, Germany.
    • October 17-18, 2011. Annual Biocorrosion Center Meeting at the OU College of Earth and Energy in Norman, OK Administrative matters to be discussed, along with technical updates and considerations for future research directions.
    • December 8, 2011. Dr. Joseph Suflita to speak at the ASTM Fuel Corrosivity Workshop in New Orleans, LA. Presentation entitled: Anaerobic Biodegradation of Fuel Hydrocarbons and Corrosivity: Does the Amount of Sulfur Make a Difference? Dr. Suflita will also participate in a Panel Discussion at 2:30 PM.     • October 23-26, 2012. Dr. Joseph Suflita and Dr. Mark Nanny will be presenting at the 9th International Symposium on Persistent Toxic Substances (ISPTS) in Miami, FL.
    • October 29, 2012. 2:00-3:30pm Technical representatives from Life Technologies will be at the University of Oklahoma in Norman (GLCH room 212) to talk about the QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System.
      The QuantStudio 12K Flex Real-Time PCR System is a qPCR instrument which can run multiple custom designed assays simultaneously in the OpenArray plate format. Please feel free to join us.
    • January 21-23, 2012. Dr. Joseph Suflita and Dr. Amy Callaghan to speak at the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Science Conference in New Orleans, LA.
